After a stint of TV presenting, Emma found herself most at ease behind the camera. Over a period of eight years Emma worked her way up from runner to creative director in the world of commercials before founding Afro-Mic Productions in 2014. She began by producing short-form digital content for network broadcasters in the UK and Ireland before making the switch to terrestrial TV in 2017 with the returnable obs-doc series 'The Search’ for BBC NI.
Over the last six years Afro-Mic Productions has moved from strength to strength producing returnable series, daytime series and multiple one-offs for the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5. Emma received various accolades including an IFTA and RTS nomination for scripted short drama 'Cry Rosa’, a film inspired by Emma-Rosa’s own experiences of growing up as mixed-raced in 1980’s Belfast.
Prior to this, Emma-Rosa worked within the music industry managing various artists and record labels, giving her a broad and immersive music background.With exceptional interpersonal skills and a firm commitment to in-depth research on all projects, Emma-Rosa's ability to bring out the character of her subjects while delving into informed debate, provides Afro-Mic Productions with a unique and personal touch to all its projects.
SABRINA FERRO
HEAD OF Production
Sabrina started out in publishing, financing her own print platforms sponsored by Sony. Sabrina progressed into TV content and went on to play a big part producing the first live TV production on C4 using Skype technology broadcasting the popular factual entertainment series Embarrassing Bodies.

Sabrina spent the next 4 years masterminding the budgeting, team and organisation of the later series of C5’s Gadget Show and Live theatre shows.
Recently she has been consulting for production companies from early budgeting and development through to production and transmission for UK and international broadcast content, as well as digital channels such as BBC Three, and platforms such as Red Bull and Netflix.
Having worked on a variety of content over 15 years Sabrina can help turn ideas into budgets and schedules. She has built up a solid contact book and with a sharp business eye can help provide recommendations for teams and suppliers for multi cam, studio, on location, branded content, on screen competitions, sponsored content and full post production set ups.
ANDREW RAJAN
BUSINESS AFFAIRS EXECUTIVE
Andrew is Afro-Mic Production’s Business Affairs Executive. Andrew has over 35 years experience of working in the television industry. He is a qualified solicitor and, prior to moving into the media industry, was a partner in a major London law firm specialising in media related commercial law.

Andrew is formerly the Director of Legal and Business Affairs for Planet 24 group of companies where he advised on groundbreaking television series such as The Word, The Big Breakfast, TFI Friday and Survivor.
For the last 11 years Andrew has provided Business Affairs consultancy services for many of Northern Ireland's major production companies including Afro-Mic Productions for whom he has now taken on the role as Business Affairs Executive where he will be looking after all commercial aspects of the business including contract negotiations with broadcasters, talent, co-production partners, distributors and financiers.
ALISON FOSTER
DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE
Originally from Liverpool, Alison has worked all over the UK in a TV and digital career spanning two decades. Primarily working in unscripted television, she has developed original commissions for companies such as Leopard Films, Tiger Aspect, Love Productions, Barcroft Studios, BBC Factual and Little Dot Studios.

Alison has set up and led a range of different factual and factual entertainment development departments across the TV and digital sectors, and loves working with her teams to develop bold creative and ambitious ideas.
When not at work, Alison can usually be found in the forest chasing after dogs, luckily one of them is Norman, her labradoodle.
EVAN JONES
PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
A recent addition to Afro-Mic, Evan joins the team after completion of his degree in Film Studies and Production from Queen’s University Belfast. Not afraid to get behind the camera to shoot engaging content or sit down and edit the latest taster reel.

Evan has worked on a number of productions in different capacities, whether that be delving deep into the BBC archives to find the perfect clip, assisting in the development of ideas for broadcast or simply helping around the office, he’s happy to tackle anything that’s thrown at him.
Outside Outside of Afro-Mic, Evan enjoys creating promotional content for clients, having shot and edited content for bands such as The Bonnevilles.
When not in the office, you might find Evan DJing or running his club night, or maybe you’ll just find him tucked up at home with Dexter the Dalmatian/Jack Russell.
NICK WITHERS
Development executive
Nick has 11 years senior development experience, including as Head of Development for NBCU label Monkey Kingdom, where he developed Channel 4’s competitive parenting series Britain's Best Parent, as well as bringing comedy entertainment format Dating No Filter to the UK for Sky. He has won commissions across multiple genres, including reality, entertainment, factual entertainment and scripted comedy. He particularly enjoys devising new and exciting hybrid formats.
ADAM O’CONNOR
TRAINEE
Hi, my name is Adam I have Right Sided Hemiplegia and Right Sided Hemianopia, I see these disabilities as unique ways that I use to adapt to my surroundings, interacting with colleagues, by using my disability as a punchline for the jokes I make. I have recently completed a 2-year Visual Media Arts foundation degree, through the open university. After completing the course, I then got a position in the Northern Ireland screen CINE Fit for Factual scheme.

I am a huge movie and tv buff, watching a lot of movies and tv shows, from different genres and countries. I also love the craft of filmmaking as it allows the creators to tell their stories. I love writing scripts, filming and editing through different videos. I have successfully participated in two sports, target shooting and Judo in which I achieved my brown belt. I also like to keep fit and go to the gym.

ELIZABETH BONHOMME
Researcher
Liz started with us in 2022 working on the BBC Two network series ‘B&B by the Sea’ as production assistant and celebrity co-ordinator. Since then Liz has been working on BET’s ‘Big Money Munch’ (2023) as researcher and celebrity co-ordinator.

Before Liz’s life at Afro-Mic she lived in New York, working as the salon co-ordinator at the celebrity stylist salon Oribe Salon, organising a staff of 60. From working in a celebrity salon, Liz was able to develop a number of professional connections, and moved into the world of personal assistant. Her positive ‘get-it-done’ attitude then led her to being employed by the likes of model Naomi Campbell, actor Rashida Jones and celebrity stylist Sally Hershberger.
